A former Pentagon official, Luiz Elizondo, testified at a recent congressional hearing that a secret government cabal is keeping us from knowing vital information about extraterrestrial life. The concept is simple yet massive: if what Elizondo and other witnesses are saying is true, then we might not be alone in the universe, but this knowledge is being kept under wraps by a secretive circle he referred to as a “cabal.”
He was not an ordinary ex-official, as he had headed the Defense Department’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program to study Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena, or UAPs. Drawing before the House Oversight Committee a portrait of secrecy, suppression, and intimidation by the government not to disclose the truth about UAPs and possible extraterrestrial contact, he presented to them evidence and anecdotes.
According to Elizondo, “Excessive secrecy has caused grave wrongs to be perpetrated against dutiful public servants and service members and the public at large, all to keep the truth that we are not alone quiet.” He indicated how a “small cadre” in the government has instilled such fear surrounding UAPs, thereby silencing most of them from saying something. He also narrated personal experiences, stating his intimidation for working on investigating UAPs.
This raises some big questions. Why would the government keep this information a secret if they have it? Could it be that they do not want the public to panic, or perhaps there’s something more political going on? Personally speaking, if there is proof of extraterrestrial life or unknown phenomena, I think people deserve to know. However, the revelation of the information must be carried out in such an orderly fashion that will not trigger mass panics or misinformation.
He believes that people who blow the whistle must be protected, as many government officials are too afraid to do so. So, he called Congress to pass various pieces of legislation for protective policies for those knowledgeable. As he said, “I believe we, as Americans, can handle the truth. And I also believe the world deserves the truth.”

This has been part of the growing efforts by legislators who want to deeply question UAPs. The other program involved is the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office or AARO. According to its stated mission, AARO said it is a central body for streamlining efforts across numerous government agencies in monitoring and analyzing unknown objects, that may pose a threat to national security and current military operations. However, according to the Pentagon, they have yet to discover concrete evidence on whether these objects come from outer space.
The mystery goes deep, retired rear admirals of the United States Navy, particularly Dr. Tim Gallaudet, were also there to testify about an incident involving the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt. In a training exercise, personnel encountered UAPs in what was described as a “Safety of Flight Issue.” The mysterious objects reportedly caused several near-collisions, almost forcing the military to shut down the entire exercise. Then there was that e-mail sent by Gallaudet about the debacle, complete with a video. The most alarming part, though, was that the e-mail was nowhere to be found in his and every other recipient’s inbox the following day.
Now, journalist Michael Shellenberger dropped another bombshell, he claimed that there exists a deeply secretive program called “Immaculate Constellation,” which supposedly consolidates all UAP-related information gathered by the military. However, Shellenberger’s sources warned him that merely mentioning the program could result in government surveillance under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). It’s almost a little too secretive to be true, but then it aligns with the claims about the “cabal” hiding these insights.
Now, so many pieces in this UAP puzzle are aligned, but few clear answers, yet these testimonies, reveal that there could be something brewing more than what the public knows, whereas the Pentagon up until now continued to say they had no evidence of extraterrestrial life, and it’s really hard to discern real and exaggerated pieces.
In my opinion, it would be wiser from the government’s end if they share more information if they have any. It will help society better understand what these phenomena are and if they hold any risks. Plus, transparency would create trust between the government and the public on such an intriguing issue.
